Day 278: Deborah Lippmann – Dancing In The Dark

Hey Dolls,

I have a fun polish for you today it is called Dancing In The Dark from Deborah Lippmann’s ‘Dance Music’ Mini Trio (Nordstrom Exclusive). Nordstrom describes Dancing in the Dark as “disco ball in the dark – glitter” which kind of made me laugh because aren’t all disco balls in the dark? Dancing In The Dark is a ton of gunmetal micro glitter and  larger holographic pieces.  It looks like a dark rainbow explosion on my nails. I love this one and it looks like a few other brands have dupes to this glitter also I will do a dupe post about this one very soon. It’s a bit on the sheer side but it builds nicely. It can become opaque in two to three coats. Glitter + Holo + Deborah Lippmann = perfection! It took me three coats to achieve full opacity but part of that has to do with the fact that this is a mini bottle and whenever I use mini brushes, it takes me a few extra strokes to get the polish opaque!  I really hope that Deborah Lippmann comes out with this in a full size because it’s gorgeous!  It’s the perfect winter polish with the dark grey base and then the holographic glitter just really pops! Dancing In Th Dark dries to a semi-matte and gritty texture, be warned – IT EATS TOP COAT! It took 3 coats just to feel smooth and after 6 hours or so it feels like it probably needs coat 4! Only issue I have with these, though from what I hear the other holographic glitters coming out have the same issues. That’s all I have to say tonight until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 277: China Glaze – Lorelei’s Tiara

Hey Dollies,

I have a fun glitter bomb for you today this one is called Lorelei’s Tiara from China Glaze’s Eye Candy 3D Glitter Collection. Lorelei’s Tiara is jammed packed in this bottle it is tons and tons of silver micro square glitter with medium sized blue round glitter sequins. What a stunner this little bottle of sparkly stuff is. This one  is lovely, smooth and it’s so easy to get a perfect, opaque finish in two coats. This polish dries quickly and is surprisingly smooth, even before a top coat. As with other glitter polishes, it is rather difficult to remove, but it is totally worth because this one is a beauty. The Eye Candy 3D Glitter collection it based off Marilyn Monroe and her movies, and they are called 3D glitters beacuse the different sized glitters give the color a 3 dimensional multi-layered look. I love this whole collection it is a must have to any nail polish addicts um I mean collectors collection hehehe. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel….

Day 276: Essie- A Cut Above

Hey Dolls,

I have a fun glitter polish for you today it is called A Cut Above from Essie’s Holiday 2011 Luxeffect Collection. A Cut Above is a mix of light pink small, medium and hex glitter in a clear base. This reminds me of Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening, it’s not an exact dupe but it’s similar! The formula was good, it wasn’t thick and the glitter spread really easily. I wasn’t having to try and place pieces glitter or apply it in a strange way to get the glitter on looking nicely. In my pictures I am going to show you I used one coat by itself, then one coats over Wet N’ Wild Ink Well and then three or four coats by itself to show you the different ways you can wear this one. The Luxeffects Collection is available now! I have seen it in regular chain stores like Ulta or in drugstores also looks like a few of the etailers already have the collection up…transdesign.com, aveyou.com, 8ty8beauty.com, head2toebeauty.com all of them have them  just to name a couple. Also I spotted a few people selling them on ebay. Essie retails for $8 each! Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..
