Day 328: China Glaze- Blue Sparrow

Hey Dolls,

I have another interesting neon for you today this one is called Blue Sparrow from China Glaze Ink Collection. Blue Sparrow is a royal blue peppered with light blue glitter. The glitter leaves a gritty feel to the dried polish so between that and the matte finish you really need to use a coat of a thick glossy top coat to bring out the lacquer’s true brilliance. I’m showing you the color without top coat but I included pictures of it with a top coat. It’s such a gorgeous blue color with blue micro-glitter and it dries a neon/matte finish.  It was a bit streaky during application and took about 3 or 4 coats for it to look good, but I really LOVE this nail lacquer!! The blue is so vibrant and perfect for any time of the year in my opinion.  Personally, I like the matte finish but you can always add a top coat if you’d like some shine.  That’s all for now until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…….

Day 327: China Glaze – Flying Dragon

Hey Dolls,

Well what do we have here? an oldie but goodie. Today I have China Glaze’s Flying Dragon it was originally from their Neon Ink Collection, but I believe it is permanently part of their core colors now. Flying Dragon OMG is an awesome color it is a neon purple/magenta that has tons of amazing pink and blue glitter in it. Amazeballz. Like I said it is a neon polish and  in case you weren’t aware, neons dry to a semi-matte finish. If you don’t like that, simply slap on a shiny top coat like I did and you’re good to go. In my opinion it’s MUCH more stunning shiny – you’re just not doing the polish justice and you may or may not like it matte. I don’t know if my pictures do this polish justice but I took pictures of it bare and with a top coat to see if I could capture how amazingly unique this polish is I love it. If you don’t have this in your collection you must go out and buy it right now. lol Now on to the nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……

Day 319: China Glaze – Pull Me Close

Hey Dolls,

Today we have another magnetic polish from China Glaze’s Magnetix Collection it is called Pull Me Close. Pull Me Close is a light blue and silver shimmer and when the magnet is applied it pulls black (iron particles?) to the top making the pattern. This one is a little sheer like the other ones but when you use the magnet to do the design’s that covers up the bald spots. I don’t know if the magnet is weak or the polish is to thick but it is kinda of hard to get the design’s to show up you have to hold it a long time over the polish to get a good looking design. This collection has pretty colors but I’m not sure if I love them yet. The directions call for a base coat + one coat of polish and also recommend doing one nail at a time. Once you get the hang of it, the magnet is easy to use, it has mini ledges/guides to keep you from hitting your nail against the magnet – though I did a few times anyway. No big deal, just wipe it clean and start over. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 312: China Glaze – Skyscraper

Hey Dolls,

How are ya? lol i’m great today I have a fun glitter fort you it is called Skyscraper from China Glaze’s Metro Collection. At first I only owned this in a mini because I bought the mini four pack and it came with three out of the four colors I wanted but I didn’t realize I would hate mini bottle brushes ugh they suck, so long story short I went into sally’s a few weeks ago and they had polishes on clearance and what do you know they had a big bottle of Skyscraper on sale for $1.99 you best believe I snatched that one up with a quickness lol. Skyscraper is a translucent blue-violet color base with lots of silver glitter. It is mostly opaque in two to three coats. but if you prefer you can layer it over a similar shade or over something totally different to change it up a bit. It doesn’t dry gritty at all and one coat of your favorite top coat gives it a great smooth finish. Skyscraper will be a little difficult to remove, like any other glitter-based polish, if worn alone and as densely as shown in the swatches, so I recommend soaking a piece of felt in remover and pressing against the nail for 15-20 seconds, then pull to remove. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……

Day 291: China Glaze – Liquid Crystal

Hey Dolls,

Please sir can I have some more???? Yes, yes you may….. I have another polish from China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitter Collection, this one is called Liquid Crystal. Oohhh I love this baby… Liquid Crystal is a metallic blue microglitter polish with all sorts of different coloured glitters, both small and hex shaped medium, that sparkle like crazy, as well as duochrome that flashes a pink purple. AMAZEBALLZ China Glaze you have done well with this collection. The abundance of glitter creates a very vibrant and sparkly effect. The formula and application is very smooth. All the uniqueness and beauty of this collection really shows in the sun when duochrome effect shows up. This is the star of this collection I had no trouble with application; it’s quite thick like these dense glitters usually are, but it wasn’t problematic. It dries rough as is to be expected. Like I’ve said before a few coats of a topcoat and it smooths it out. I also swatched this one alone and over wet n’ wild black creme to show the duochrome effect. Onto the nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 282: Sally Hansen – Showgirl Chic

Hey Dolls,

Today’s polish looks like a familiar polish but its not it is called Showgirl Chic from Sally Hansen Gem Crush Collection. Like I said this one look s familiar it looks like a dead on dupe for China Glaze’s Lorelei’s Tiara. Showgirl Chic is  a fine silver micro  glitter with large bright blue glitter. I had crazy de ja vu when I painted this one. Like I said it looks exactly like Lorelei’s Tiara. I will do a comparison on these too soon. This one has the same brush as the Insta-Dri polishes – flat and wide. I love this brush it helps get good even coverage. The formula on this one was nice. Not runny, but it was thin. Sparse at first but built nicely,it only took  three coats to become opaque. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 280: Sally Hansen – Bling-tastic

Hey Dolls,

How are you doing this evening? me tired from work but i wanted to show you a fun polish. This one is called Bling-tastic from Sally Hansen’s gem Crush Collection. Bling-tastic is a glitterbomb it is a ton of turquoise micro glitter with bits of larger silver hexagonal glitter through out a clear base. This one looks like a dupe for OPI Gone Gonzo from the Muppet’s Collection . I will do a comparison soon for both of those shades. Bling-tastic is the thin one out of this collection, doesn’t spread easily, and isn’t near being opaque at all. I don’t know if it was my bottle or a weird formula, but I didn’t even get any silver on my nails until the third coat. The silver hexagonal glitter looks like bald spots in the polish, no matter the lighting or the angle. I’m not sure about this one I’m kind of on the fence about it, some ladies have complained that this polish peels and chips off in one day and doesn’t want to stick to the nail. I haven’t noticed anything like this yet so I don’t know what’s going on there. That’s all I got for tonight dolls, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..
