Day 292: Deborah Lippmann – Flash Dance

Hey Dolls,

Happy V-day I have an awesome glitter bomb for you today it is called Flash Dance from Deborah Lippmann’s Dance Music Holiday Mini Trio Nordstrom’s Exclusive. Flash Dance has tons of purple micro glitter with large dark pink glitter in a magenta jelly base. It looks like Nails Inc. Bloomsbury Square and wet N’ Wild’s Back Alley Deals, I will compare them for you all later on. I’m gonna need Deborah to make this in a full size bottle, please! The formula was really great on this one it went on smooth and does dry a little gritty like all dense glitters but nothing a few coats of a top coat can’t handle to smooth it out. The Dance Music Holiday Mini Trio was a Nordstrom’s exclusive it retailed for $29. That’s all I have for you today until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 278: Deborah Lippmann – Dancing In The Dark

Hey Dolls,

I have a fun polish for you today it is called Dancing In The Dark from Deborah Lippmann’s ‘Dance Music’ Mini Trio (Nordstrom Exclusive). Nordstrom describes Dancing in the Dark as “disco ball in the dark – glitter” which kind of made me laugh because aren’t all disco balls in the dark? Dancing In The Dark is a ton of gunmetal micro glitter and  larger holographic pieces.  It looks like a dark rainbow explosion on my nails. I love this one and it looks like a few other brands have dupes to this glitter also I will do a dupe post about this one very soon. It’s a bit on the sheer side but it builds nicely. It can become opaque in two to three coats. Glitter + Holo + Deborah Lippmann = perfection! It took me three coats to achieve full opacity but part of that has to do with the fact that this is a mini bottle and whenever I use mini brushes, it takes me a few extra strokes to get the polish opaque!  I really hope that Deborah Lippmann comes out with this in a full size because it’s gorgeous!  It’s the perfect winter polish with the dark grey base and then the holographic glitter just really pops! Dancing In Th Dark dries to a semi-matte and gritty texture, be warned – IT EATS TOP COAT! It took 3 coats just to feel smooth and after 6 hours or so it feels like it probably needs coat 4! Only issue I have with these, though from what I hear the other holographic glitters coming out have the same issues. That’s all I have to say tonight until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 272: Deborah Lippmann – Just Dance

Hey Dolls,

I have a fun polish for you today it is called Just Dance from Deborah Lippmann’s ‘Dance Music’ Mini Trio (Nordstrom Exclusive). Just Dance is a brilliant aqua – glitter, it is basically a ton of small aqua glitter and larger bright blue glitter in a very sheer blue jelly base. I love how the different shades of blue makes this color look almost three dimensional! This set is a trio of three mini bottles, they are .30 FL Oz 9 ML. The formula on this polish was thick but really easy to work with you can get it opaque in a few easy coats. It dries with a bit of a gritty texture but two good top coats smooths it out. Like I said this trio is exclusive to Nordstrom and retails for $29 you can also get it off their website, it was a 2011 holiday collection it is still available at the moment. it has a few dupes the only one I can think of at the moment is Wet N’ Wild’s Cost Is No Issue. You can wear it alone or over another color to give your manicure some pizzazz. I took some pictures of it over a black polish to show you how it looks layered over Revlon Lunar. That’s all I have to say about this polish today until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel….

Nail Mail Deborah Lippmann/Gaga’s Workshop

Hey Dolls,

During November 21, 2011 to January 2, 2012 Barney’s New York and Lady Gaga teamed up and had Gaga’s Workshop. Barneys New York donated 25% of all their sales of items from Gaga’s Workshop to the Born This Way Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering youth and inspiring bravery. For more information visit http://www.BORNTHISWAYFOUNDATION.org. Well with that said I had my eye on the Deborah Lippmann Edge Of Glory Nail Polish set. It was regular $45 but I wondered onto barneys.com and noticed Gaga’s Workshop stuff was on sale and I found the set for $29 boy oh boy was I a happy nail polish geek I ordered that baby because I knew it will sell out you can still go to barney.com and click on sale gaga’s workshop and I believe it is still available as of now. I ordered it on 1/12/2012 and I received it yesterday 1/21/2012 which is not bad since it was coming from New York and I’m in good old California Love it. I’m not gonna go into to much detail about the set I’m just going to show you pictures of the bottles and do a more extensive post later on. This duo comes with two polishes a black on called Edge Of Glory and top coat called holographic Edge Of Glory. I bought this set because I love Lady Gaga, Deborah Lippmann nail polishes, and Flakie Holographic Glitter Polishes. On to the pictures, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 265: Deborah Lippmann-Forget You

Hey Dolls,

I have a fantastic glitter bomb for you today, it is called Forget You from Deborah Lippmann”s Get This Party Started Trio. Forget You is Multicolored and Multisized Hexagonal  glitter in a black jelly base. This one looked very promising in the bottle, but it fell a bit short once it’s on my nails. It looks good, but not as good as Happy Birthday. The black base in this shade seems to be the same jelly-ish type as with her other glitter shades, such as Across The Universe. If you want to save the trouble of having multiple layers with this shade, use a black base underneath. The multicolored glitter looks “forced” on some spots of my nails. I think using only one layer of this shade would alleviate this look. I was a little worried about this one, that maybe the black wouldn’t let the glitter peek through enough but nope…not the case! I really love this one. I do prefer Candy Shop in this trio but  not by much. The formula on both Forget You and Candy Shop was a little thick due to the amount of glitter in them but they were pretty easy to apply no troubles at all. You can get away with two coats but I did three, or if you prefer since the base is a jelly you can wear it over a solid black so you don’t have to put on so many layers. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 263: Deborah Lippmann – Candy Shop

Hey Dolls,

Today I have an awesome polish for you it is called Candy Shop From Deborah Lippmann’s Get This Party Started Collection. Candy Shop is a bubble gum pink base with loads of glitter mixed in a sea of color, both hex glitter and small round glitter. I love the way this looks in the bottle and the nail, I thought maybe I wouldn’t but as soon as I swatched it I was in love. Candy Shop comes in a trio set it as comes with Happy Birthday and Forget you. I already shown you Happy Birthday so I will show you Forget You soon, the bubblegum pink in Candy Shop is so fun and girly it reminds me of cotton candy so yummy and delicious looking. Candy Shop is basically Happy Birthday with a bubblegum pink base. Two coats of candy shop gives you a few bald spots but if your bold and don’t think it’s over kill you can do a three coats or if you prefer you can put Candy Shop over a similar shade of pink and you won’t have to worry about bald spots. It kinda of looks  like a rainbow peed on your nails. lol It’s not a bad thing really, but it’s very colorful and somehow the pink base in this shade makes the difference. The color scheme does make the name of this shade fit quite well. It’s pink, it’s colorful, it’s bright, and it makes me think of candy. Formula is a bit on the gloopy side as well, but it didn’t make application difficult. I love it I want to eat my nails that’s how great this shade is on to nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……
