Day 300: China Glaze – Octa Gone Wild

Hey Dolls,

I have an oldie but goodie for you today it is called Octa Gone Wild from China Glaze Kaleidoscope Collection that is now discontinued (sad face) but never fear there is always evil bay I mean ebay where you might be more than you want to pay but if you want it’s there. anywoodoodle Octa Gone Wild is  is a light purple lavender with tons of awesome holographic goodness. This is a gorgeous color I love the dusty lavender holoness GORGEOUS.  Unlike the OMG! Collection, the Kaleidoscope collection loves the top coat. Instead of chipping, I found it was almost rubbing away?  I really want to try the Nfu-Oh Aqua Base – I heard it’s amazing for holographic polishes as a base. We shall see. It goes on sheer at first but it is build-able to complete opaqueness. I took several pictures of it indoors and out doors in the sunshine (Sunny California). On to the nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……

Day 296: OPI Sand-erella

Hey Dolls,

I’m taking old school again today I have a fun holo for you it is called Snad-erella from OPI’s Summer For Shore Collection. Sand-erella is a sheer pale purple holo.  Sand-erella is more of a sleeper holo with a purple/greenish grey duochrome sheen. It’s not a in your face holo like OPI DS  Original. Yes it is pretty holo but compared to DS original it’s more of a subdued holo. But I still love it anyways. You may need 3 to 4 coats it builds up rather nicely it’s a glorious linear holo that is a pale purple love it. You can also add a top coat to this baby and it does not dull. I took tons of pictures indoors and outdoors just to show you how great the holo on this baby is. The Summer For Shore Collection is discontinued but you can find it on ebay. Good Luck on to the nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……

Day 281: Sally Hansen – Be – Jeweled

Hey Dolls,

I have an awesome polish for you today it is called Be-Jeweled from Sally Hansen Gem Crush Collection. Be-Jeweled is a fine purple micro glitter with larger light pink glitter in a clear base. The formula on this was nice, not runny, but it was thin. Sparse at first but built nicely, it was opaque in three coats. The pink is kind of holo so it reflects multiple colors in the light. This one is really packed with glitter so it doesn’t take much to get full coverage. And of course since its a glitter it dries amazingly fast! It is quite thirsty for topcoat though, so a two or three coats will make it smooth if that’s to much and you can live with the bumpy one coat will do. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……

Day 259: China Glaze – IDK

Hey Dolls,

I have awesome Holo for you today it is called IDK from China Glaze’s OMG Collection. IDK is a light dusty purple holo almost like a lilac purple. I love this one because its light and not bam in your face I’m a holo it is a great color for work when you want a little funkiness without being wham in your face funkiness. As you may or may not already know the holo effect in the OMG collection is way different from the holo effect’s in the Kaleidoscope and Tronica Collections. I love any and every holo so they are technically all my favorites lol. The holo effect of this one is very smooth and straight, the particles appear more organized and linear. In normal indoor light the holo effect on this is very visible but outdoors it is wham in your face visible like hello I am a holo you got to love me. The formula on this is a little tricky though it is best applied without a basecoat, as weird streaking and bald spots occur when applied over basecoat. It does not stain, so don’t worry too much about not using a basecoat. The formula is also a little drippy and tricky to apply, but these color is well worth the extra effort. It is so beautiful I took several pictures of IDK indoors and outside in the sun to show you the best of IDK. Enough word vomit on to the nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 254: China Glaze BFF Original

Hey Dolls,

I have a bombtastic Holo for you today it is called BFF from China Glazes OMG Collection. BFF is a medium pink holo, this is the original BFF this may be old news to some, but as of now there are 2 different versions. A bright pink and a muddy reddish/tanish/pinkish. Some have even thought they were just a batch of mislabeled TMI’s , but as you can see, they are just duds. I will show you a picture so you can see the difference and I will review the other BFF later on. As you can see, the holographic effect in this is quite different from the holo in the Kaleidoscope collection. BFF has a very smooth and straight holo effect, the particles appear more organized and linear. The holographic effect in this is barely visible under low light and indoor lighting, and can actually appear pretty flat and uninteresting unless you’re in bright light or outdoors. The Kaleidoscopes, however, still appear sparkly in low light. I love the way this one looks indoors and outdoors, I’m not going to ramble to much I’m just going to show lots of nail porn and let the pictures speak for themselves on this one. I took took tons of pictures indoors and outdoors to show off its amazeballz holo effect. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 248: Essence – Hello Holo

Hey Dolls,

Hello Happy New Year I’m going to start the year off right and show you an awesome polish today this one is called Hello Holo By Essence it is from their nail art special effect topper collection. Hello Holo is a polishgasm it is amazeballs. Hello Holo is a silver holo glitter that is so… holo glittery. I have never seen such a silver holo glitter this holo glittery before. Oh my god. Just, oh my god. The Holo particles in this one really show up it is really gorgeous. Holy Sparkles Batman this is an awesome glitter topper. I took several pictures of it alone then I put it over OPI Your Royal Shine-ness to show you what it would look like over a silver metallic base. The application on this polish was great and not too thick. It dried really quickly as well! The holo effect in this glitter is strong you can even see it a little in the shade and indoors, but outdoors watch out. The holo effect on this polish is a linear holo effect not scattered like the Kaleidoscope collection from China Glaze. This polish becomes opaque in two to three coats you can wear it alone or over another color to spice things up a little bit. 0I don’t think my pictures do this polish any justice but I tired I took some indoors and outdoors in the sun to try and capture the holo effect of this polish. I also took some pictures with just one coat of polish to show the glitter in the polish. That’s all I have for you today dollies enough word vomit and on to the holo porn lol, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……

Day 242: China Glaze – OMG

Hey Dolls,

Today I have an awesome holographic polish for you it is called OMG and it is from CHina Glaze’s OMG Collection. OMG is  a smooth silver beauty and the namesake of the collection.  This has the strongest holo effect of my polishes and it can even be seen in the shade. This is a stunning sliver holographic polish. For those of you not familiar with collection, OMG was a collection of twelve holographic polishes released in 2008.  The polishes are renown for having some of the strongest linear holographic finishes available combined with a variety of extremely wearable colours.  Most holographic polishes that are available have what is known as a “scattered” effect which means the holographic effect appears randomly through the polish, much like glitter.  A “linear” effect describes the linear rainbow effect that can be seen in these polishes.  Unfortunately this collection is discontinued but can be found on eBay quite easily if you’re willing to pay for it. I have a few different silver holographic polishes I will do a review on them and show you sometime later. The formula on this is a little more tricky. This is best applied without a basecoat, as weird streaking and bald spots occur when applied over basecoat. OMG does not stain, so don’t worry too much about not using a basecoat. The formula is also a little drippy and tricky to apply, but this color is well worth the extra effort. I took tons of pictures of it indoors and outdoors to show you all the holographic goodness. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……
