Day 297: Sally Hansen – Big Money

Hey Dolls,

I’m bringing it back into the future…. why does that remind me of a song??? I can’t quite place it hmmm now that, that’ll bug me all day on to today’s nail polish. Today I have for you Big Money from Sally Hansen’s Gem Crush Collection. Oh what a crush I have on this polish. LOVE IT. LOL Big Money is the quiet one in the collection, a cool-toned gold and lilac glitter combination that’s what I’d call elegant bling. I love how the colors mesh so well together drool…. Two to three coats can give you full coverage. It does dry a little on the gritty and matte side but even though Big Money is not an especially chunky glitter; it lays pretty flat on its own. I would still use a few coats of a top coat to smooth it out and make it even more shinier. I only swatched this one have yet to wear it in a full manni but I heard some people have had problems with this whole collection and it peeling off the nail in a whole pieces. I will have to test this out with my China Glaze strong Adhesion Base and see what happens. I’ll let you know on to the nail porn, until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 264: OPI – Wocka Wocka!

Hey Dolls,

I believe I have the last polish in the Muppet’s collection from OPI  for you today it is called Wocka Wocka! But don’t worry dolls I will do a whole Muppet’s Collection post for you soon. Wocka Wocka! is  is a very pretty blue toned red with a hint of shimmer. This is a bold fun polish, which is the perfect recipe for a fabulous pedicure. I guess I’d call it sort of a cherry red.  But it’s not as plain as you might think. Like I said it has a hint of pink shimmer in it. As you may or may not know already I am not a red nail polish girl far from it but once in a while I will fall in love with a red or I just have to complete a collection because it drives me absolutely mad when I have an unfinished collection. Well this is not one of those times where I fell in love, don’t get me wrong it is a pretty red if that’s your thing by all means go right ahead but me I would have to say leave it. This did not photograph as well as I would have liked. In person, the color is much deeper and the shimmer more pronounced. This applies like a dream and is basically opaque in one coat, but if you’ve followed me from the beginning you may know I love to do three coats no matter what the polish is maybe it’s the start of ocd who knows but its got to be three. This polish does stain like crazy so you really need to use a base coat (or two). Be prepared to spend some time cleaning this off the skin around your nails as you try to remove the polish. That’s all I really have to say about Wocka Wocka! until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 262: OPI – Animal-istic

Hey Dolls,

I have another polish from OPI  Muppet’s Collection it is called Animal-istic. Animal-istic is a bright red with a hint of orange, it has small regularly shaped flecks that flash red to a bit of orange depending on the light. My pictures didn’t capture that to well you just have to see that for yourself in person. It is a lively red and I love that it is not dark or heavy looking I’m not mush of a red girl but I would wear this one because it is a bright red with flakies 😀 It had a nice formula but it does take three to four coats to become opaque because it is on the sheer side. Other than that it is awesome. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 260: OPI – Meep- Meep- Meep

Hey Dolls,

Today I have a fun polish for you it is called Meep-Meep-Meep from OPI’s The Muppet’s Collection. Meep-Meep-Meep is a beautiful deep, blue toned, reddened magenta jelly base that is full of delicate, iridescent floating flakies. The flakies are magical, flashing back in pink, fuchsia, red, gold and even blue sparks, at the right angle. This polish isn’t really a color I would normally buy or wear but I’m a sucker for a complete collection and glass flakies in my polish. The formula for this polish is OPI-licious. Smooth and easy to work with. I had no trouble controlling how this polish applied as it flowed off of that fabulous Pro-Wide brush. I had very little cleanup and very little dry time was good. Do I recommend that you grab it if you see it? Definitely. It isn’t the longest lasting polish I have ever met, but it is beautiful and well worth owning and wearing. My pictures really don’t show the gorgeousness of the polish – it’s much juicier and glass-flecky and gorgeous in real life. It’s absolutely dazzling, especially in the sun. I used three coats. It covered really well, typical of OPI quality. I think is an all-around pleasing color and that even though it might not be the attention getter among all the crazy glitters in this collection, I bet it’d look great on lots of people if they gave it a chance! On to the nail porn until next, nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel…..

Day 246: OPI – Divine Swine

Hey Dolls,

I have an awesome glitter bomb for you today, this one is called Divine Swine From OPI The Muppet’s Collection. I love this glitter. Divine Swine is a bunch of purplish/magenta micro glitter with a bunch of large silver hexagonal glitter in a clear base. I love Miss Piggy and this collections consists of a few polishes named after the great one herself. This one did a great representation of Miss Piggy. This polish is similar to Gone Gonzo! and Fresh Frog Of Bel Air just in another color. I still love the whole collection anyways come on it the Muppet’s who doesn’t love the Muppet’s and I grew up watching them so I have a small place in my heart for them and this collection.Back to Divine Swine this one can be worn alone but it does need quite a few layers to become opaque. If lots of layers isn’t your thing you can also wear it over another polish to get a different effect. Personally I love it both ways, I took several pictures of Divine Swine alone and then I took a few of it over Orly Liquid Vinyl. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel….

Day 243: OPI – Fresh Frog Of Bel Air

Hey Dolls,

I have a fun glitter polish for you today it is called Fresh Frog Of Bel Air from OPI’S The Muppet’s Collection. Fresh Frog Of Bel Air contains both small and large hexagonal glitter, but in this one all the small, dense glitter is green and the larger glitters are silver. It is a glitter bomb in a clear base it is build-able so you can wear it alone, but it takes quite a few coats like four to five to become fully opaque if that’s to many layers for you, you can always layer it over another color to spice things up. I only took pictures of it by itself to show the greatness that is Fresh Frog Of Bel Air. This one was named after Kermit De Frog heheeh I love kermy, I got to say OPI did  great job of capturing Kermit in this polish. I don’t know why the name is in reference to Will Smith’s T.V. show oh well. Enjoy lovelies until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel….

Day 240: OPI – Gone Gonzo!

Hey Dolls,

I have an awesome polish for you today it is called Gone Gonzo! from OPI’s The Muppet’s Collection. Gone Gonzo! is a clear base with mix of light blue round glitter and larger silver hexagon glitter. It’s the blue variation of the same concept we’ve seen throughout the Muppets collection’s glitters. The formula for this one is really smooth and manageable you don’t really have to guide it as much. It does take at least four coats for it to become opaque. It does take some extra layers to build up opacity if you want to wear these glitters alone. Despite the extra coats though, I didn’t have to wait any extra time between applying each one for the glitter pieces to stay in place, so that was a nice plus. You could easily layer these over something else though too if you don’t want to do the extra coats or just want a different look. It does take a little bit of work to remove but it is worth it for the gorgeousness that turns out on your nails. Until next nail polish, same nail time, same nail channel……
